I love the photos I have around the house of my family! They fill my home with memories of what my babies looked like, when they were babies. I believe that finding a photographer that fits your personal style is important.

I will be featuring local photographers to help introduce you to a small sample of some of the great photographers this city has to offer.

Momarazzi photography has a wonderful style that is personal and modern.

The Ispiration

I was inspired to start my business after thinking about it for years, the idea has been slowly snow balling into a full on business plan a few months ago. I had been tossing the idea around in my head for months, gathering information and doing my research. Photographing people was something I had always loved to do, and I decided to try and make something of a career of it, testing out the “do what you love” idea in a business-like fashion. My daughter also definitely inspires me – she is my heart and soul.

What is the most rewarding thing about being a mom running your own business?

The most rewarding thing about being my own boss and running my own business is there are no limitations. I can be as creative as my clients allow me to be, and I get to be apart of someone’s life and capture memories for them. Basically I am out there doing what I love, putting my own spin on things. I love creating images and trying new things, and I love meeting new people and being a part of someone’s life; being able to share a few intimate moments with a family, couple, or baby.

What’s your motivation?

What motivates me is trying to find an artistic edge to everything, and always trying to look at something that has been viewed 1000 times in a completely different way. Photography is in itself a beautiful form of art that enables you to capture something just as you see it; and also enables you to manipulate the way we might see and image versus the way someone else may see it. My family also motivates me, my beautiful daughter motivates me to try new things and enjoy life, to slow down and take it all in.

Where do you see your business in 5 years?

In five years I see the same picture as I see now. Me, taking photographs. It’s something I have done for years and I know I will only continue to take more photographs. I also perhaps see some expanding, possibly offering prints and maybe even setting up a permanent studio somewhere in downtown Saskatoon. I would also like to dip my toes into commercial photography, and test those waters. You never know what the future holds, but if it involves a camera and and idea, I’m all for it.

What is the most valuable lesson you have learned as a working parent {so far}?

The most valuable lesson I have learned so far as a working mom it to make sure to take some time for yourself! I love to read, so when I have a few free moments in the day, my nose is in a book. It’s important to have some personal time to yourself!
