What inspired you to start your business?
I have a degree in business, and I always aspired to my own business. I’ve also always had a passion for art; nothing is more therapeutic than focusing on something creative for a couple hours! So when I heard of Paint Nite, I knew it was something that Saskatoon needed and jumped at the opportunity!
What makes your product unique/different?
Before most people attend a Paint Nite, they understandably believe that we’re a paint “class” – that we’re all about the end result that you take home at the end of the night. But once they’ve attended an event, they realize that the end result is such a small part of the experience. We love seeing our guests let go, laugh with their friends, and become completely carefree for two hours. The beautiful piece of artwork they create is really just a bonus! (And yes, even first-time painters can create something beautiful!)
What keeps you motivated?
We have an amazing team of fun and passionate artists who run the show every day of the week. I work to ensure they get to continue doing what they love!
If you could have one super-hero power, what would it be?
This isn’t really a super power that I’ve ever heard of before, but I wish I didn’t need to sleep. (If I couldn’t have that, it would be fun to fly.)
What is the most rewarding thing about running your own business?
A cliché mom thing to say, but getting to work from home and spend more time with my kids.

Where do you see your business in 5 years?
We’re still bringing the party and the paint everywhere we go!! My goal is that by then we will have raised over half a million dollars for local charities with our fundraisers.
What tip would you give other moms starting or running their own business?
Strive for balance! Memories made with your family are just as important as dollar signs.

I have never been to a paint nite yet.
I absolutely love attending paint nites! This is such a fun event to go to! I have been to many and can’t wait to go back!
