Bubble Bugy [closed]

Comments Off on Bubble Bugy [closed]

This summer, I was lucky enough to find Toronto based, Buggy Bubble company!! The bugs are so awful this summer. Well, between the rain and wind that is! My new baby spends so much time in her car seat as this summer has been busy with ball games, family golf tournaments, mommy meetings, park outtings and so on but she was not seeing much covered up with a blanket that she hated and usually was blowing off her anyways.

I finally went a purchased a carseat cover from a boxstore but my husband and baby hated it! It had to come off each time we wanted to put her soother in or take her in and out of the car seat and it sat so low to her face she would scream anytime it was on her carseat!

Then I found the Buggy Bubble!! It is an all-purpose weather protective cover for baby seats that leaves lots of room around your baby’s face and hands and has an easy opening zipper so you can leave it on while you re-adjust the soother on your morning walks! My baby also gives her approval as now the larger covering leaves room for her toys to hang from her handle as it can go over the handle easily.

I purchased the Buggy Bubble in June and it hasn’t been taken off the carseat ONCE as it’s my must have, never leave without baby accessory this summer. I want to share one with you so I contacted Baby Bubble and got a free one to give away!

The Inspiration

My Grandfather had skin cancer, which he survived. One day I saw him

wearing a mesh shirt, which was labelled as UV skin protective. It

seemed peculiar to me that a see-through mesh could protect from the

sun. I researched UV standards, and realized that companies were

falsely advertising UV protection, including the company that sold my

Grandfather his garment. I noticed that the same white fabric was

being sold to cover strollers. After a few years of development, I

patented the Buggy Bubble and the rest is history.

What is the most rewarding thing about being a mom running your own business?

Running a business is a form of test that brings with it necessary

development. A business is like a child, and a business owner like a

parent. Both the owner and the company are in a constant state of

growth and if the growth stops, all things come to a halt. The

process is very rewarding.

What’s your motivation?

The opportunity to provide a reliable product to parents that affords

an authentic measure of protection to their children from the

elements. The Buggy Bubble helps protect children from biting

insects, rain, and UV radiation when the supplementary cover is

deployed. The cover has a UPF50+ rating by an independent laboratory

(Intertek) to an equatorial Austrailian UV standard. Knowing that our

product has exceeded Canadian and American standards for toxicity,

flammability and safety motivates me to continue to product and sell

this product.

Where do you see your business in 5 years?

We have other products in development and we see ourselves as

supplying new innovations for consumers.

What is the most valuable lesson you have learned as a working parent {so far}?

Time is precious and fleeting. Investing it in the right areas can

benefit many.
