Dawgs [closed]
My family has been in love with Dawgs since my oldest started picking what shoes to put on when we went out. That first pair of Canadian Dawgs was wonderful for both of us. Easy to put on, and easy to wear.
When my second child was born after being carried transverse for 9 months, I quickly learned how important a good pair of shoes can be for little ones. The Toddler Dawgs Spirit were the best set of shoes for learning how to walk as they fit close to the foot but allowed enough give to straighten wobble ankles. In fact, we are on our 2nd pair!
My oldest still loves the Microfibre Sheep Dawgs Boots come winter though. I think we’ve rotated through all the colors at some point! I passed on a pair to a mommy tester to see if she and her little one loved them as much as my family.
This is what she had to say:
With Winter coming up fast, the Microfibre Sheep Dawgs Boots are wonderful. Warm enough to play outside in cold days but easy for my little guy to walk the mall and go shopping with me without stumbling on heavy boots. They are easy to slide on and off as we go to market mall to play and great for daycare drop off!
He has splashed through mud, water, leaves and everything else in these boots and whe just give them a quick clean and dry and they are good again.

The Inspiration
Dawgs was started to improve the shoe quality in the EVA market and has since become a leader in comfort footwear including leisure summer footwear, working shoes for those standing on their feet all day, a fashion winter boot line and a winter accessory line.
What makes your product unique/different?
We strive to make the most comfortable footwear in various categories including EVA summer footwear, a working dawg line, a winter fashion boot line and a new upcoming safety/work boot line.
What keeps you motivated?
We are motivated to to promote that we will out perform competitors in comfortable footwear.
If you could have one super-hero power, what would it be?
We would all like to be able to fly.
What is the most rewarding thing about running your own business?
I run the retail side so can comment on that. The most rewarding part is when customers come back to tell us how their feet, leg or back disorders have less of an impact on them after wearing Dawgs.
Where do you see your business in 5 years?
Our new work/safety boot line will take us to another level and become more attractive to men. In 5 years we will have gone even further into many other footwear markets and be world renowned.
What tip would you give other moms starting or running their own business?
Research your idea to make sure their is a market for what you are thinking about then with all your passion execute on your plan and do not give up. Recognize failures along the way to improve and become profitable.

We bought our son his first pair of dawgs this summer and they were worn for EVERYTHING! No matter how many times the strap was ripped off they replaced it. Such a nice staff over here in the Lawson Heights location 🙂
