Mommy Hands Baby Sign Language [closed]

I first came across Roz as my little one was hitting the ‘tricky’ stage for me and I was desperate to find a way get through it.

The tricky stage is where I find your child can understand you, but you can’t understand them. They will bang the table,  yell, maybe throw food, all to try and tell you what they want.

I turned to sign language to try and find a way for us to help everyone understand each other. I was amazed at how fast my little one took to it and how proud I was to watch my child learn and grow.

Now with my next child hitting that ‘tricky’ stage, I am excited to watch another little brain grow and communicate back with me.

The Inspiration

As soon as my first daughter was born, I knew I wanted to teach her baby sign language.  When I noticed the benefits of Addison signing back I decided to take my training a little further and become a certified instructor.   I find that sign language has given my children a “voice” to explain to me their needs.  In addition, I have added more classes to my business such a The Happiest Baby Workshops and Mommy and Baby Reflexology.

What makes your product unique/different?

I offer my participants a high-quality curriculum complete with products to take home to enhance their success! In addition, I use what I teach with my children so I know my services and products are beneficial!

What keeps you motivated?

My family and my passion for running my own business.

If you could have one super-hero power, what would it be?

Speed…I can never get all I want to get done in one day.

What is the most rewarding thing about running your own business?

I get to plan my business around my family life.  There is nothing more important than finding time to be there for my children and husband.

Where do you see your business in 5 years?

I would really like to write my own baby sign language book.

What is the most valuable lesson you have learned as a working mom {so far}?

I realize that life is all about balance whether you work at home or away from home.  There is not enough time during the day to get everything accomplished.   Finding ways to give yourself time is not easy.  However, being a parent is the most rewarding thing I have ever done.  One of my favourite quotes sums up what I believe:

There comes a time when a woman needs to stop thinking about her looks and focus her energies on raising her children.  This time comes at the moment of conception.  A child needs a role model, not a supermodel.

  1. Would love to win a class. My son is just over a year old and I would love to be able to communicate with him through sign language.

  2. I would love to win the alphabet tower…the babies at my story time would be very happy to have new touys to explore and chew…fingers are crossed!

  3. I would love to win the signing class or the happiest baby workshop I have checked out your store website and am very interested in the classes you offer. As a new, first time mom I am very excited and eager to learn new ways to help communicate with my son as well as to make sure that he is as happy and as loved as can be. Both of these classes seem to offer a lot and I would be grateful for any help in learning my baby’s needs.

I would love to attend the signing class and see what is is all about, but honestly I would be happy with any of the prizes!!! Thank you.

  7. I would love the signing class for when my little one is old enough. Baby sign sure worked wonders for my niece (and my sister!)

  8. I’d love to win the signing class or the tot tower. I’m very interested in the signing stuff. Some of our friends do it with their kids & its amazing to see these little people expressing their needs. We love Dr.Karp’s awesome technique but are fully versed in it so that class would be better for someone else to win.

  9. I’d love to win the class! We are definitely getting to the point where she is starting to understand me, but not so much vice versa…

  10. Second baby and I’d love a refresher on baby signing when we hit an age to get started
