Recycle Your Crayons
This year, my daughter’s class is having a big valentines day party. One catch – no treats, no chocolate.
I admit, I may have done a quick panic as I was stumped as to what then can I let her bring for the party. After some digging around, I found a great site that shows you how to recycle all those broken, half used crayons and make something new and beautiful.
Using my heart shaped muffin tin, my daughter and I broke up the big crayons into little bits. We made pink, red and white crayons for the girls and orange, green and blue for the boys.
Thank to the dollar store for some cute little wedding bags and some printed off tags that read “you color my world” – I look like a crafty, organized mom.
The truth, it took me about 20 minutes to do. The longest part was putting the crayons into the bags as with the help of little hands, it took forever for her to select what crayons needed to go where.
Cool idea!
